DIY doesn’t come naturally to everyone, and if you’re not very confident with tools, instructions and heavy-duty materials, you may need to do your homework first. When you have a basic understanding of what each tool does, you should put your skills to use and test them out. If you want to learn how to drill a hole, use a scrap piece of wood and put your drill to good use. You will have heard this over and over again but practice really does make perfect, however, there is a lot of theory involved in construction, and even DIY to some extent.
As a starting point, we recommend you watch video tutorials before you carry out a DIY task; you’ll then have a better idea on how you should approach it. You’ll also be one step ahead in terms of mastering those important techniques.
