Wood is a versatile trade material. There is a whole range of products made from wood such as cladding, flooring, structured wood, metal joinery, decking, logs, wood fire doors, etc. Knowledge about one product does not apply to the entire range. Larch cladding does not perform like cedar cladding; engineered flooring over a concrete slab requires different flooring prep than over floor joists; C24 is not the solution just because it is C16. This covers timber of all the construction related to the use of timber in the building industry within the UK building regulations, to the fitting of timber in construction as FD30, FD60 fire doors, and external cladding to the fire safety regulations.
