When you have a leak, the first question you’re going to ask yourself is whether or not you need to call out a professional. The only way to answer that question is to get up on the roof yourself. If you can see a clear problem, perhaps a tile that’s slipped, a bad joint or a dip in the roof surface, then you may be able to fix the problem yourself.

If you can find the problem and still need to call out a professional it’s still going to a lot better than calling out a professional roofer to find the problem and then quote you on it. Remember, roof leak detection isn’t always easy and sometimes specialist software is needed to detect a pinhole leak.

If you don’t feel confident enough to investigate the roof yourself, it’s much safer to find someone who’s willing to do this for you, or alternatively you’ll need to contact a roofing contractor.
