These substances can be removed using granular activated carbon systems. These systems remove the dissolved substances through ion exchange, absorption and adsorption, and they have to be replaced periodically.
Granular activated carbon systems remove compounds that are too small to be removed using multi-media filters. The purpose of industrial water filtration systems has always been important. These systems can be used to control temperature through cooling towers, or they can be used to provide purified water to be reused in industries. Suspended solids in water can shorten the life of equipment, reduce efficiency of heat transfer and increase the costs of pumping.
